About Gay Pride UK

Thank you for taking the time to find out about the reasons behind Gay Pride UK and what we're here to do. The truth is that over the last several months we have grown from being an informative site about UK LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans) Pride to an information giver in a large number of ways. We now have history, charities (and of course pride) to thank for our success and popularity.

My name is Christian Mather and I created this site to try and serve the LGBT community. After looking online, I realised that there was no site currently in existence that served the community in a way that was easy to understand, had a certain personal touch and served as a 'one stop shop'. Pride events are a commercial venture in larger cities and something that requires blood, sweat and tears in smaller ones. Nevertheless we are all working towards the same goal... Social, Political and Personal freedom.

This is not a site that is dedicated to what many consider to be the underbelly of our community... We're not here for pornographic or superficial reasons. As a group we have a lot to offer the general masses and it starts with organising ourselves and allowing ourselves to see who we are and how we got here... Compiling this has been an eye opener for myself and whilst none of my opinions have changed, many have had to shift to take into account everything that has happened, not just to me, but to all of us en-mass.
