PARTY IN THE SQUARE 2010!
Location: Custom House Square, Belfast
Ireland’s largest FREE LGBT party returns, and its the biggest year yet, as the partying continues right through Pride Day. Opening from Noon, Custom House Square will once again play host to Ireland’s largest FREE LGBT celebration! It’s the ideal place to meet before the parade, grab a drink and first dance of the day or simply make any last minute adjustments to costumes and banners.
Haven’t got a Pride flag or t-shirt? Not to worry as our on site stalls will keep you supplied with all sorts of parade paraphernalia! When we return from the parade, Party in the Square really jumps into live with the best of local live talent such as SETHWAY, winners of Battle of the Bands 2010, onto more mainstream artists such as the all time Eurovision camp classics SCOOCH.
Not only that, we’ve also got a MASSIVE video wall which will allow you to see all the goings on no matter where you are on the screen - we will be making full use of this with live broadcasts throughout the square and not only that, we’ll be giving two lucky party goers the chance to win big as we replay some of your all time favourite game shows LIVE in the square. Full bar and food facilities will be on hand to ensure Priders don’t go thirsty or hungry.
There’ll be a community market place, where you can get up to speed on the activities and services offered by a wide range of voluntary groups and statutory agencies. Added to that will be a dedicated family zone with bouncy castle and face painters to keep the young (and young at heart) in the festival spirit. We’d also like to remind patrons that carry-outs are not permitted in the Square. As with the Parade, please follow the instructions of marshals and security staff – they’re there to ensure everyone has a safe and fun day out. First Aiders will be on hand in the event of any accidents, and a dedicated disabled viewing area will be available to ensure all the community can enjoy the day fully.
There will be a number of visible camera crews who will be in Party in the Square. They will be broadcasting live onto the big screen and thus it is important you follow instructions they may give to ensure everyone is entertained throughout the afternoon.
