The event is held to raise money for HIV & AIDS awareness charities in the Midlands.  This year, they have chosen to add to the beneficiaries list due to exceptional circumstances following the earthquake in Haiti.  The human rights commission are aware that the entire HIV & AIDS team in Haiti, bar 2 people, have been killed.  The LGBT community who suffer from HIV & AIDS in Haiti have no means of getting help, and have lost everything.  Therefore the Pride Ball will now be supporting THT, AB+, Freshwinds and  the IGLHRC (International Gay & Lesbian Human Rights Commission). 

Over the last few years, the Birmingham Lesbian & Gay Pride Ball have raised over £130,000, helping to enrich the lives of those effected by HIV, and with your help and support, we fully intend to keep on beating the annual fund-raising record and upping the game every year!
