Blackpool Pride

The 5th Blackpool Pride is fast progressing towards a solidified presence on the calendar... with this years organisers promising new events and very much a Blackpool orientated theme, which will include more local talented individuals taking part.

On the weekend beginning Saturday 16th, Blackpool held it's 4th annual Pride Event. This is a latecomer of the larger area's to institute a Parade but what it lacks in history it makes up for in enthusiasm. The starting point for the Parade was been moved to Dickson Road in the heart of the "Gay Village".

A selection of Market and Lifestyle stalls where lined up along the Pier, with entertainment lined up "at the deep end"!

Blackpool Gay Pride Parade in 2008 attracted over 8000 people, with over 200 grandly dressed in a selection of outfits, including mermaids, penguins and stilt walkers. The two day festival was hailed as a massive success.

Theatres on the pier were packed out for acts such as X-Factor stars Same Difference, Rowetta and Pop Idol Michelle McManus.
