Cornwall Pride

This years third annual Cornwall Pride will see Truro play host to over 1000 people. The Pride event will take place this year on Saturday, 28th of August.Details of the event are still being organised.

The 8th of August 2009 saw Cornwall's second annual Pride Event. The high hopes that it would exceed expectations where met... with both events be hailed as a resounding sucess.

Cornwall's first Pride Event, sporting a theatrical theme, had over 600 people turn out to witness the parade, which started at 11am on Truro's Lemon Quay, progressed through the city centre and ended at Victoria Gardens. A picnic in the park was awaiting the six hundred strong procession. Free live entertainment and music were set up throughout the afternoon, with Cornwall's popular DJ Sparky on the decks and Charlie Rose singing an array of ballad songs from the 90's – 00's... to name but a few. Refreshments and information stands were on site throughout the afternoon.

Devon and Cornwall Police were among the many local supporters of the event, and the Gay Police Association flag was flying at Truro Police Station.

An evening of entertainment started at 7pm in a marquee on Lemon Quay. Kylie Tribute, Carolyn Rowe as 'Shirley Bassey' and head line act Sonia were just some of the evenings line-up.
