History of LGBT Pride
And now in the New Millenium

It seems that (for the UK at least) tolerance of sexual preference is not only recognised as a right now, but that is is also something that is acceptable throughout most of society. As a community of diverse individuals, we have weathered the storm, and come out of the other end 'gayer' than ever (excuse the pun).

For example in 2000 the United Kingdom's ban on homosexuals serving in the armed forces was abolished and Clause 2A was repealed in Scotland (with section 28 being repealed 2 years later for the rest of the UK). Not to mention the age of consent being equalised. 2005 saw the UK finally introducing civil partnerships with rights all but equal to marriage.

Unfortunately 2005 also saw the execution of Mahmoud Asgari and Ayaz Marhoni... two gay teenage males from Iran.

All of us enjoy feeling safe, secure and comfortable and for some it is far easier than others. There are many issue's effecting the LGBTQi community throughout the world. All I can hope is that, as a community we can band together to help prevent more atrocities from being committed in what could be a golden millennium on our newly found world stage.
